Belmont students Kevin Fulda and Jake Jorgovan took First Runner-Up at the national finals of the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA). An Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) sponsored awards program, GSEA is for full-time undergraduate students who run a revenue-generating business.

Kevin and Jake’s company, Rabbit Hole Creative, is a media creation firm specializing in HD video production, motion graphics and event design.

Earlier this year, Rabbit Hole was propelled into the spotlight when the company produced video content for Cee Lo Green’s musical performance on Saturday Night Live. Since then, Rabbit Hole has started working on projects with clients such as Dolly Parton and Cirque du Soleil.

Jake attributes Rabbit Hole’s success to Belmont, saying “To be recognized by GSEA as one of the top student startups in the nation is quite an honor. We wouldn’t be where we are today without the Center for Entrepreneurship at Belmont University. The professors there have done so much to help guide us in building a successful business.”

Roughly 3,000 student businesses were nominated to the contest. Only six were invited to the May 19 national finals in New York City.

Douglas Hanna’s Atlanta-based web hosting company, A Small Orange, won the national finals and will advance on to the GSEA global finals November 17-19.

John Rowley, president of Fletcher Rowley political consulting firm and EO Nashville member who nominated Rabbit Hole Creative to the competition said, “What these guys accomplished in terms of creative work and starting a business is incredible. Kevin worked for us as a producer working on hundreds of commercials while Jake kept the business running. They are creative guys with a grounded focus on building a business. That is rare.”

Kevin will graduate from Belmont this spring with a degree in audio engineering technology and video production. Jake recently graduated with an undergraduate degree in audio engineering and entrepreneurship
