It’s been another busy week for the members of EO Nashville. Here’s a look:

The Nashville Post’s Innovators issue featured Bernard Health [Alex Tolbert] as a company turning a corner of the health insurance market on its ear.

Alex Tolbert’s regular column in The Tennessean published Sunday. This week Alex discussed why avoiding high-priced hospitals can be tricky. Bernard Health was also mentioned in CNN’s recent article titled “8 most business-friendly cities.” Bernard Health was quoted commenting on Nashville’s sense of community and how that open community has helped the company. Behavioral.net also featured the company in an article titled “Storefront navigators to offer health insurance advice, for a fee.”

Centresource [Nicholas Holland] was featured in the Nashville Post’s branding section. Centresource was noted as a digital marketing firm that, with its flexible approach to connecting with customers, helps clients rise above and cut through the noise.

Hannah Paramore [Paramore The Digital Agency] was also featured in the Post’s branding section. Hannah talked about strategies for digital marketing.

Co-founder of Bone McAllester Norton [Charles Bone], Stacey Garrett, was featured as one of Nashville’s most powerful women in the Nashville Post.

The Nashville Post featured a story on Benjamin Goldberg’s [Strategic Hospitality] strategic moves over the years to make Nashville a food haven.

Martin Renkis [Smartvue] was featured in the Nashville Post’s recent patent section. Martin is one of two Nashville-based entrepreneurs to secure two patents or more.

Martin Renkis’ guest column appeared in the Nashville Business Journal Friday. His column was the second in a new partnership between EO Nashville and the Nashville Business Journal. In his column, Martin gave readers the top five patent tips for new inventors.

Congratulations to Smartvue, who won the prestigious Best of Show Maximum Impact Award today at the Electronic Security Expo (ESX) for its S9 Cloud Video Surveillance solutions. The ESX Maximum Impact Awards program is the first and only program to place a critical perspective on the impact that new and recently introduced products and services have on the security integration and monitoring businesses.

Amy Tanksley [Uncle Classic Barbershop] was also featured in Friday’s Nashville Business Journal. Since opening her first location in 2008, Amy has added two locations.

National Storm Shelters [Jeff Turner] was mentioned in a Tennessean story Sunday. National Storm Shelters was quoted saying they’ve seen an uptick in sales from home builders.

Executive Insight featured Dan Hogan’s [Medalogix] column about predictive analytics. According to the column, predictive modeling solutions can help providers deliver better care, improve their bottom line and adapt to reforms.

David Waddell’s [Waddell & Associates] weekly column for the Memphis Daily News published Wednesday. This week’s column was entitled “King Kong Versus Godzilla.”

NovaCopy [Darren Metz] was featured in The Tennessean yesterday. NovaCopy specializes in 3-D printing, which has a myriad of uses. Recently they produced the prototype for a mold that will be used to create a prosthetic foot for a duck.

Darek Bell [Corsair Artisan Distillery] was featured on CNN.com today in an article titled “Lessons from a rogue whiskey distiller.”

James Fields’ [Concept Technology] bi-weekly column in The Tennessean listed five places where you shouldn’t cut corners in your IT infrastructure.

In partnership with Boeing, Smartvue [Martin Renkis] has been chosen to protect the US Open with remote video surveillance.

Village Real Estate and Core Development Services [Mark Deutschmann] won an ULI Nashville Excellence in Development award at the recent gala at Music City Center.

Paramore | the digital agency [Hannah Paramore] recently announced its move from the Gulch. Paramore has used EO Nashville member company Facility Planners [Nancy Leach] in the process. The Nashville Post published the news.

David Waddell’s [Waddell & Associates] column was published in the Memphis Daily News today. This week’s column was titled “Glacial Job Creation Equals Glacial Stimulus Reduction.”

Andy Bailey’s [Petra] bi-weekly column for The Tennessean, published today, detailed his family’s economy plan, which was designed as an accountability system that includes his daughters in the business of operating a household.

Here’s what’s happening in EO Nashville’s world this week.

CIO, Computer World and Network World featured Medalogix [Dan Hogan] as one of six practical predictive analytics tools.

Medalogix was also featured in this month’s BC Advantage Magazine. Dan’s column was titled “Predictive Modeling is a Necessary Starting Point for BPCI Participating Providers.”

The Nashville Post mentioned Medalogix in its article titled “Tennessee hospitals coping with readmission reduction mandate.”

Alex Tolbert [Bernard Health] wrote a blog post for Advance Web on fixing health care costs. Read his blog here. Alex’s regular column in The Tennessean also published Sunday. In this week’s column, Alex discussed the health care reform.

Fletcher Rowley [John Rowley] has been chosen as one of the ad agencies for AMC’s documentary/reality program The Pitch. Each episode features two ad agencies who pitch against each other for a national account. Advertising Age, The Tennessean  and the Nashville Business Journal reported the news.

The Nashville Ledger recently wrote a story about the Southern Living Idea House and spotlighted Castle Homes [Alan Looney], who built the home.

The Nashville Post recently featured a story about Emma [Clint Smith]. In the article, Clint discussed the maturation of a Nashville tech darling and how his role has changed over the years.

National Storm Shelters [Jeff Turner] was featured in a Nashville Post story last week that highlighted local artisan manufacturers gaining traction with a niche approach. WJLA TV also mentioned National Storm Shelters in a article about Oklahoma donations.

National Storm Shelters was also featured in Brentwood Homepage this month.

InQuicker [Michael Brody-Waite] recently announced that its online waiting service has helped patients avoid more than 3M total wait time minutes that would have been spent in the hospital or urgent care waiting room. mHiMMS reported the news.

In his recent column in the Memphis Daily News, David Waddell [Waddell & Associates] discussed when being safe can actually be unsafe.

David’s column also ran in the Nashville Ledger.

Ben Hanback’s [The Hanback Group] guest column appeared in the Nashville Business Journal last week. In his column, Ben detailed the top five ways to boost work-week productivity. Ben’s column was part of an ongoing partnership between EO Nashville and the Nashville Business Journal.
