Darren Metz [Novacopy] was quoted in an AP story about the TVA’s solar energy program.

In J.J. Rosen’s [Atiba] mobile column for the Tennessean, J.J. wrote about marketing via mobile devices.

The Nashville Post published an article about Village Real Estate Services [Mark Deutschmann] selling cottages in Salemtown.

On Friday, the Nashville Business Journal printed profiles and Q&As with its recent batch of Small Business Awards finalists. EO Nashville members Ricky Scott [The Kingston Group], Jerry Baker [Conexess Group], Chris Corby [School Facility Management], Alex Tolbert [Bernard Health], John Kepley [teknetex], Mike Rustici [Rustici Software] and James Fields [Concept Technology] were featured.

Nicholas Holland [Populr.me] was also featured in Friday’s Business Journal. The publication’s cover story focused on startup enterprises including Popular.me.

James Fields [Concept Technology] penned a column for the Sunday Tennessean on business applications. You can read the clip here.

In her technology column in Sunday’s Tennessean, Julie May [bytes of knowledge] tackled the issue of whether or not businesses should use the “Square” mobile device to process credit card transactions. The paper followed up with a story on Monday about the thousands of Nashville businesses using the Square.

In this week’s roundup:

Alex Tolbert [Bernard Health] and JJ Rosen [Atiba] both had columns run in Sunday’s Tennessean. Alex’s piece discussed the insurance options available on the new health care exchange, while JJ talked about turning your idea for an app into a reality.

Alex was also featured in two articles on Becker’s Spine Review. The first asked “What Spine Surgeons Need to Know About Insurance Premiums Next Year” and the second set up “6 Expectations for Spine Surgeons After Health Insurance Exchanges.

On Friday, two EO Nashville members had columns run as part of EO Nashville’s partnership with the Nashville Business Journal. Dan Hogan’s [Medalogix] column gave advice on launching a startup in Nashville, while John Rowley’s [Fletcher Rowley Inc.] piece listed five ideas to apply the political playbook to corporate branding. The Nashville Post recently reported that City Saver [Tom Beach] would soon launch its product in Seattle, the company’s sixth market.

The Nashville Business Journal published Mike Rustici’s [Rustici Software] guest column titled “Top 7 ways to create a culture that attracts top talent.” Mike’s column is part of the partnership between EO Nashville and the NBJ.

The Nashville Business Journal also featured Rustici Software in an article published Wednesday. The article discussed Rustici’s unique company benefits, which include the services of part personal assistant, part company concierge Jena Lawing who facilitates and schedules her coworkers’ errands.

Healthcare Call Center Times published an article written by Dan Hogan [Medalogix] in it’s July issue.

Travel + Leisure Magazine named Corsair Distillery [Darek Bell] to it’s list of America’s Coolest Distilleries.

The Nashville Scene’s food blog mentioned Strategic Hospitality [Benjamin Goldberg] as the newest team members of Green Hills’ The Food Company. The Food Company owner Jackie Daniel recently turned over some of the daily restaurant operations to Strategic Hospitality.

Eric Jackson’s [Keystone Business Solutions] guest column appeared in the Nashville Business Journal Friday. He discussed the meaning behind acronym TANSTAAFL.

Slate.com quoted Darek Bell [Corsair Distillery] in its article about the trend in high proof spirits. Slate also mentioned Corsair Distillery in an article titled, “Craft Whiskey Isn’t Necessarily Better.”

The Caribbean Journal named Corsair’s Spiced Rum one of the 10 best American rum’s. The Daily Meal also named Corsair one of the 25 top craft distillery tours in the US.

USA Today and BBC featured NovaCopy‘s [Darren Metz] work on the 3D prosthetic foot for duck Buttercup. News shows Fox and Friends, CNN and NBC’s The Today Show also mentioned the story.

Southern Alpha featured a Q&A with Dan Hogan [Medalogix] Tuesday.

The Tennessean featured Andy Bailey’s [Petra] column this morning. In the article, Andy talked about how a cell phone can be more of a distraction than a tool.

Tom Turner [DSi] was featured in Document Media where he detailed the seven steps to building an information management policy.

Rustici Software [Mike Rustici] announced the launch of Tin Can API version 1.0 after three years of work.

At the 2013 International Security Conference, Smartvue Corporation [Martin Renkis] launched its Smartvue S9i cloud video surveillance server, powered by Intel NUC and Microsoft Corp.’s Windows Azure.

Congratulations to Smartvue Corporation who won the 2013 Security Products’ Government Security award for cloud computing. The awards honor outstanding government security products in a variety of categories.

MedCityNews reported last week that Medi-Copy Services [Elliott Holt] became a partner with BOX.

Congrats to Andy Bailey [Petra Coach], who was a Williamson County Impact Award winner.

The Nashville Business Journal reported Wednesday that Concept Technology plans to join Germantown’s fair share of techies. Concept Technology will occupy 8,700 square feet inside the renamed BowTruss Building. The article mentions CentreSource and Populr.me [Nicholas Holland] who lease space at 1312 5th Ave. North in Germantown. EO Nashville members Julie and Charles May [bytes of knowledge] were also noted. The company will be relocating to 1212 6th Ave. North in the next five weeks from its current location at 3310 West End Ave.

Bell and Associates Construction [Darek Bell] was mentioned by World Interior Design Network for being one of the three construction companies that completed the construction of the Music City Center.

Darek Bell [Corsair Distillery] was also featured on CBS today and was interviewed on the boom in craft spirits.
